8
THE CITY OF
-~ ~• ° -~- ~"' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
j~L£~S~4NTONo
July 15, 2008
Parks and Community Services
TITLE: AUTHORIZATION TO ACCEPT FY 2008/2009 AND 2009/2010 ALAMEDA
COUNTY MEASURE B GAP FUNDS FOR THE PLEASANTON
PARATRANSIT SERVICE
SUMMARY
The Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA) manages the
disbursement of Measure B (dedicated sales tax) funds for filling gaps in paratransit
services. City staff submitted two (2) Measure B Gap Grant applications; one to support
the Downtown Route (DTR) and the second to provide assessment services for
paratransit riders. On June 26, 2008, ACTIA approved an allocation of $240,038 for the
DTR, and $15,000 for the Rider Assessment Service, to be used during fiscal years
2008/09 and 2009/10. A City Council Resolution (Attachment A) is required by ACTIA
as part of the application process.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council adopt a Resolution authorizing the Director of Parks and
Community Services to accept $255,038 in Measure B Gap Funds from the Alameda
County Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA) to operate the Downtown Route
and create a Pleasanton Paratransit Service (PPS) Rider Assessment Service.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
Should the City accept the Measure B Gap funds ($240,038 for the PPS Downtown
Route and $15,000 for the Rider Assessment Service), the net result would be a 74%
General Fund savings for these PPS programs.
