Attachment 2

(7) Reclesign6,7, and8 grade attendanceboundoriestoequalizetheenrollrnent
between thetwomicldleschools.

This reorganization Ivould give the school district a capacity of 5,381 students. This
caNcity will serve the district's needs to accommodate the additional growth well into the
I c)c)O's. '

PLEASANTON SCHOOL - Pleasanton School will be designated as the District Service
Center under the proposed district reorganization plan. Currently, the school is being
occupied by Special Education, Physical Therapy Services, and Child Welfare Services.
Further, the site houses District Media Services, Graphics, Data Processing, Childcare,
Adult Education, Regional Occupational Program, and District Maintenance and Operations
Services and Warehouse.

With the demand for more district services as a result of the influx of more students~ we
have grown out of the current District Office. Therefore, we are proposing to sell the
current district office and relocate at Pleasanton School. This would centralize all district
services under one roof, and could be financed by the sale of the current District Office
property. The district's rationale for this proposal is that (I) The site is currently being
utilized for the district services listed above. (2) The practicality of using it as a school site
is not geographically suitable. (3)It will assist the school district in receiving rehabilitation
money for other schools. Although Pleasanton is still viewed as a viable school site by some,

its location is not practical since the growth in Pleasanton is all taking place away from that
area, and further, the growth that is occurring near by is that of commercial development.

-15-
