Attachment 2
Page I of 3

REORGANIZATION
OF THE
PLEASANTON ELEMENTARY DISTRICT

The Boards' of Education have approved in concept a reorganization plan that appears to be
the most practical from the standpoint of providing long term solutions to accommodating
city-wide growth. Further, it addresses the issue of providing schools in neighborhoods
where the future growth will take place. The concept is to reorganize the elementary
school district into K-5 elementary schools and 6-8 middle schools. The reorganization
would take place in the following manner:

(I) Build a new (>-8 grocle middle school in the Fairlcm~ds attendance area to
accommodate the growth in northeast Reasonton.

(2) Build out Vintage Hills School to accommodate an additional enrollment of 200
students.

(3) Reorganize Valley View School to K-5 grade levels and send 6th graders to
Harvest Park. This would create additional space at Valley View School to
accommodate 137 students.

Reorganize Walnut Grove School into a K-5 school and send 6th graders to
Harvest Pork. This would create additional space at Walnut Grove to
accommodate 173 students.

(5') Reorganize Alisal School to a K-5 school. This would create additional space to
accommodate 73 students.

(6) Reorganize Fairlands School into a K-5 school. This would create space for an
additional 108 students.

-14-
