EXH181T A <br />Item 6b <br />__ Staff Report <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />July 9, 1980 <br />SUBJECT: UP-80-15 <br />APPLICANT: Earl Adams Tile and Coping, Inc. <br />PURPOSE: Application for a use permit to allow <br />warehousing activities in the commercial <br />service building located at 3687 Old Santa <br />Rita Road. <br />ATTACHMENT: Location Map <br />Earl Adams, owner of the commercial service building located at <br />3687 Old Santa Rita Road, wishes to lease space to four separate <br />tenants for warehousing type activities. Warehousing is a <br />conditionally allowed use in the C-S District, therefore, Mr. <br />Adams is applying for a use permit for these uses. <br />The businesses are all warehousing in nature. They consist of <br />Precision Pool Plastering Company, Inc.; Livermore Drywall; <br />Furniture on Main; and The Nonsense Factory. The first two would <br />consist mainly of the warehousing of contracting materials. Furni- <br />ture on Main would use their space entirely for the storage of <br />furniture. Most of The Nonsense Factory space would be utilized <br />for the storage of games. In total these uses would occupy 7,500 <br />sq. ft. of the 44,400 sq. ft. building. <br />Staff Recommendation: In the staff's opinion the uses proposed <br />are appropriate for the area in which the building is located. <br />For this reason, and because we feel that all of the findings <br />required for the granting of a use permit can be made in this <br />case, the staff recommends approval of case UP-80-15, subject <br />to the following conditions: <br />1. That this use permit is granted only for Precision Pool <br />Plastering Company, Inc.; Livermore Drywall; Furniture <br />on Main; and The Nonsense Factory with the uses <br />occupying a maximum of 7,500 sq. ft. of the building <br />located at 3687 Old Santa Rita Road. <br />2. That approval of this case is subject to all conditions <br />of case Z-79-20, approved by the Design Review Board <br />3/14/79. <br />
