The EVC acknowledges that a committee of 23 members is large in comparison to other <br />City commission and committees, but the members feel that the recommended changes <br />are important to retaining the value of the committee to the Council. The EVC also notes <br />that the expansion of categories will offer additional opportunity for participation on the <br />committee. Additionally, the EVC is not recommending a change in the number of <br />representatives for each category, noting that one representative per each category <br />ensures balanced representation and does not weight any one category over the others. <br />The EVC is hereby recommending the following membership categories for the <br />Economic Vitality Committee: <br />Membershi Cate o Descri tion <br />Chamber of Commerce A representative recommended by the board <br /> of directors of the Chamber of Commerce <br /> whose membership in the organization is <br /> expected to be at least two years from the time <br /> of the a ointment to the Committee <br />Commercial Real Estate Development A representative from a commercial builder or <br /> developer with an office located in Pleasanton <br /> or who directly serves the Pleasanton <br /> communit <br />Commercial Real Estate Broker A representative from a business specializing <br /> in commercial real estate leasing or sales with <br /> an office located in Pleasanton or who directly <br /> serves the Pleasanton communit <br />Retail or Entertainment Center A representative from a retail or entertainment <br /> store/center located in Pleasanton <br />Pleasanton Downtown Association A representative from a business located in <br /> the city's downtown district and recommended <br /> by the board of directors of the Pleasanton <br /> Downtown Association <br />Residential Real Estate Development A representative from a residential builder or <br /> developer with an office located in Pleasanton <br /> or who directly serves the Pleasanton <br /> communit <br />Residential Real Estate Broker A representative from a business specializing <br /> in residential real estate leasing or sales with <br /> an office located in Pleasanton or who directly <br /> serves the Pleasanton communit <br />Financial Services A representative from a financial institution or <br /> financial services company or business with <br /> an office located in Pleasanton <br />Citizen At Lar e A resident of Pleasanton <br />Tri-Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau A representative recommended by the Board <br /> of the Tri-Valley Convention and Visitors <br /> Bureau and whose membership in the <br /> organization is expected to be at least two <br /> years from the time of the appointment to the <br /> Committee <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />
