Miscellaneous Project Updates <br />It was moved by Vice Chairperson Stark, seconded by Commissioner Jones, to <br />approve the Consent Calendar. Motion carried unanimously. <br />6. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br />Pam Geiger, Ridge View Commons, addressed the Commission. Ms. Geiger noted that <br />the Commission will be holding its annual meeting with residents at Ridge View <br />Commons on Thursday, October 4. She invited members of the Commission to join the <br />staff and residents for dinner in the dining room at 5:00 p.m. prior to the meeting and <br />distributed invitations. The Commission thanked Ms. Geiger for her invitation. <br />A. Presentation of Letters Thanking Jeff Anhorn Nursery and Boy Scout Troop 941 <br />for Recent Donation of Plants and .Labor at Kottinger Place <br />Chairperson Hodgett presented this item. She noted that Kottinger Place recently <br />benefited from the donation of over 100 shrubs that were donated by Mr. Jeff Anhorn of <br />Jeff Anhorn Nursery in Livermore. In addition, local Boy Scout Troop 941 provided the <br />labor to plant the shrubs throughout the complex. Ms. Hodgett invited the five <br />representatives from Troop 941 to the front of the Council Chambers: Taylor denBroeder, <br />Erik Lindahl, Nick Nicholas, Kevin Buscheck, and Scott Nicholas. Ms, Hodgett read the <br />following proclamation for the record: <br />"The Housing Commission commends Boy Scout Troop 941 this 20th day of September, <br />2007; whereas, Je~`'Anhorn of Je~`'Anhorn Nursery recently donated over one hundred <br />assorted landscape plants to Kottinger Place senior apartments; and whereas, these <br />shrubs have been planted throughout the complex in collaboration with local Boy Scout <br />Troop 941 which generously provided the labor for the project; and whereas, the <br />contributions made by Boy Scout Troop 941 to Kottinger Place have helped to provide a <br />pleasant and attractive environment for the senior residents and maintain the appearance <br />of the complex which is one of the only housing resources for extremely low income <br />seniors in the Pleasanton area; acrd whereas, the Housing Commission appreciates <br />Troop 941 's generosity and commitment to the residents of Kottinger Place and the <br />Pleasanton community at large; now, therefore, be it resolved that the Housing <br />Commission does hereby recognize and commend Boy Scout Troop 941 of Pleasanton <br />and expresses its sincere appreciation for the recent contribution made at Kottinger <br />Place senior apartments.
