Section 1. The Planning Commission recommends to the City Council
the amendment of the Land Use Element of the General Plan
to read as follows:
"The General Plan map shows three residential density
categories: Low Density Residential - less than two
(2) dwelling units per gross acre; Medium Density
Residential - an average of five (5) dwelling units
per gross acre, predominantly detached single family
homes but also including townhouses and condominiums
where densities do not exceed eight (8) units per gross
acre; and High Density Residential - an average of 15
dwelling units per gross acre, predominantly apartments.
These densities are averages for the entire planning
area and are not intended to regulate individual sites.
Townhouses and condominiums can be allowed in the Low
and High Density Residential categories as long as all
requirements of the zoning code are met. Eight dwelling
units per acre is the minimum allowed in the High Density
Residential category. Densities in Planned Unit Develop-
ments (PUD) can vary from these limits where the approving
body finds that the PUD is in the best interest of the
public health, safety and welfare; meets the purposes
of the PUD Ordinance; and complies with all applicable
goals and policy statements of the General Plan."
Section 2. That the application of Morrison Homes for the General
Plan Amendment filed under GP-77-2 (requesting change in the
Land Use Element) was withdrawn at the request of the appli-
cant.
Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon
its passage and adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton
on the 10th day of August, 1977, by the following vote:
AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Shepherd, Wood and
Chairman Butler
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
ATTEST: Secretary Harris
DATE: August 10, 1977
ATTEST:
Robert J. rris, Secretary Rober E.
