The purpose of this
study will be to determine an appropriate site for TassaJara Reservoir, the
alignment of the pipe that wtll connect the City of Pleasanton's existing
water system to the reservoir, and the estimated construction and
right-of-way costs for the reservoir and pipe. These costs will then be
available for use in the North Pleasanton Water Assessment District.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The Water Master Plan prepared by Camp Dresser & McKee in November 1985
identified the need for an 8 million gallon treated water storage
reservoir approximately two miles north of 1-580 and one-half mile east of
Tassajara Road. A 24-inch transmission pipe that would connect TassaJara
Reservoir to the existing water system was also identified in the Water
Master Plan. The enclosed location map indicates the approximate location
of the proposed reservoir and transmission pipe. The following paragraphs
describe our proposed approach by task, for the site determination study.

Task I - Locate Potential Sites

Available topographic, geologic, and soils data will be collected and
reviewed. Following the review, a field inspection wtl be made of the
general location for the proposed TassaJara Reservoir and transmission
pipe. The floor elevation of the reservoir must be approximately 475 feet;
this will match the floor elevation of the existing Kotttnger and Foothill
Reservoirs and allow correct operation of the Lower Pressure Zone.

Task 2 - Perform Geotechntcal Evaluation

A review and evaluation will be made of geotechnical conditions in the
general vicinity of the proposed Tassajara Reservoir. Based upon the
review, two or more specific sites will be identified and a second field

EXHIg]T A
