10 <br />THE CITY OF <br />-~ °~ °~ -~- ~"' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j~L£~S~NTONa <br />June 3, 2008 <br />Parks and Community Services Department <br />TITLE: REVIEW OF PROPOSALS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO SYCAMORE <br />LANDSCAPING CORPORATION FOR TRASH COLLECTION OF PARK <br />AND TRAIL WASTE RECEPTACLES <br />SUMMARY <br />Proposals have been received for the FY2008-09 collection of trash in park and <br />trailhead waste receptacles, and staff is recommending an award of contract to the low <br />bidder, Sycamore Landscaping Corporation, in the amount of $78,000. A copy of the <br />Bid Summary and proposed contract are attached for the Council's review. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />That the City Council take the following actions at its meeting of June 3, 2008: <br />Review the proposals received and award a contract for the subject project to <br />Sycamore Landscaping Corporation of Walnut Creek, fora low bid of <br />$78,000; <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to execute aone-year, renewable contract for this <br />project; <br />3. Amend the FY2008-09 Operating Budget, transferring $2,300 from the <br />General Fund to Parks and Community Services account 417-412-4354. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />A total of $75,700 has been allocated in the Parks and Community Services <br />Department's proposed FY 2008/09 operating account for trash collection of park and <br />trailhead trash receptacles. The recommended contract with Sycamore Landscaping <br />Corporation is for a one (1) year period, at a cost of $78,000. This is an increase of <br />$2,300 over the budgeted amount of $75,700, and will require a budget transfer to <br />provide sufficient funding. The increased costs are the result of additional trash <br />receptacle locations being included in the upcoming contract. <br />
