City of Pleasanton <br /> Park and Recreation Commission <br /> <br /> REBOLUTION 86-4 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION SUPPORTING PROPOSITION 43 WHICH PLACES BEFORE <br /> THE VOTERS OF CALIFORNIA JUNE 3, 1986, A BOND MEASURE TO <br /> PROVIDE FUNDING FOR PARKS AND RECREATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, <br /> RESTORATION, LAND ACQUISITION AND OTHER RELATED PURPOSES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has adopted <br /> and the Governor has signed the Community Parklands Act <br /> of 1986 which is known as Proposition 43; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, park and recreation programs vastly enhance our <br /> environment and our lives; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, leisure facilities and open space in both urban and <br /> rural areas are a necessity to life since they have a <br /> substantial effect on mental and physical health, <br /> economic productivity and social well-being; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Proposition 43 would place before the voters of <br /> California on June 3, 1986, a measure to provide <br /> financing of a program of acquiring, developing, or <br /> restoring real property for local park and recreational <br /> purposes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed program will make available additional <br /> and/or augment existing recreational areas and add <br /> and/or improve leisure facilities in the City of <br /> Pleasanton and throughout the State of California; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, additions to and enhancement of existing parks and <br />recreational facilities have a direct economic benefit <br />to our commun-ity and the state as a whole and, moreover, <br /> will benefit the health and well-being of all <br /> Californians. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED <br /> <br /> That the Park and Recreation Commission of the City of <br /> Pleasanton does hereby endorse and urge support of <br /> Proposition 43, California Parklands Bond Act of 1986, <br /> at the California Primary Election on June 3, 1986. <br /> <br /> <br />
