Proposition 43 was passed by an overwhelming vote of the state <br /> legislature and signed by Governor Deukmejian. It has wide <br /> bipartisan support and is strongly supported by the California <br /> Park and Recreation Society. <br /> <br /> Park and Recreation Commission Recommendation <br /> <br />On April 16, 1986, the Park and Recreation Commission adopted <br />Resolution 86-4 endorsing and urging support of Proposition 43, <br />California Parklands Bond Act of 1986, at the California primary <br />election of June 3, 1986, <br /> <br />The CommissiOn also adopted a motion recommending that any <br />Proposition 43 funds available to Pleasanton be allocated to the <br />project to complete the last twenty (20) acres of Pleasanton <br />Sports and Recreation Park.
