II. Definitions: <br /> <br /> For the purposes of these guidelines the terms listed below shall <br /> be construed to mean the following: <br /> <br />1. Architect: shall mean a person who is duly registered as a <br /> Professional Architect in the State of California. <br /> <br />2. Building Official: shall mean the Building Official of the <br /> City of Pleasanton, or his designated representative. <br /> <br />3. City Engineer: shall mean the 'City Engineer of the City of <br /> Pleasanton, or his designated representative. <br /> <br />4. City Standard Specifications & Details: shall mean the most <br /> current City Standard Specifications and Details adopted and <br /> in use by the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />5. Civil Engineer: shall mean a person who is duly registered <br /> as a Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering in the State <br /> of California. <br /> <br />6. Encroachment Permit: shall mean an Encroachment Permit <br /> issued by the City of Pleasanton Public Works Department for <br /> work within the City right-of-way. <br /> <br />7. Erosion Control Plan: shall mean a plan showing measures to <br /> be taken to control erosion during construction, including <br /> construction of sediment basins, installation of straw <br /> bales, silt fences, hydroseeding, etc. <br /> <br />8. Final Site Approval: shall mean the approval by the City <br /> Engineer of the Site, Grading and Utility, Landscape and <br /> Irrigation plans for construction. <br /> <br />9. Fire Marshal: shall mean the City of Pleasanton Fire <br /> Marshal, or his designated representative. <br /> <br />10. Grading Permit: shall mean a permit to perform grading, as <br /> defined in Chapter 70 of the Uniform Building Code. A <br /> Grading Permit issued by the City of Pleasanton allows <br /> excavation and the placing of fill material, including <br /> import material, only. The installation of any utility <br /> lines, including storm drainage pipe and/or appurtenances, <br /> is not allowed. <br /> <br />11. Grading & Utility Plan: shall mean a plan showing vertical <br /> control including finished floor elevation, site grades, <br /> both proposed and existing.
