PRIVATE DEVELOPMENT DESIGN GUIDELINES

I. Purpose of Guidelines

These guidelines are to be used by developers, design
consultants and contractors for projects within the City of
Pleasanton to assist in plan processing and construction
approvals for onsite work. The guidelines pertain to commercial,
industrial and multi-unit (four or more units) residential
projects. They do not apply to private streets, which must be
designed in conformance with the City of Pleasanton Standard
Specifications and Details. It should also be noted that onsite
improvements and grading covered by the Subdivision Map Act are
not subject to the requirements of Chapter 70 of the Uniform
Building Code, including fees as discussed under Grading Permit
Fees of these guidelines.

It is the hope of the City of Pleasanton that the information
provided in these guidelines will help developers and consultants
to submit plans requiring fewer revisions, thus resulting in
smoother plan approvals. Additionally, construction should run
smoother with timely inspection approvals, leading to quicker
project completion. All of this should save developers,
consultants, contractors and City staff time and money.
