City of Pleasanton <br /> <br /> EPORT <br /> <br /> April 15, 1986 <br /> <br />MONORABLE CITY COUNCIL <br /> Pleasanton, California <br /> <br />Adoption of Private Development Standards <br /> <br />Members of the Council: <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The Private Development Standards are the product of more than <br />one year's work by the City Engineering Standards Committee. <br />This committee was directed by the City Manager and came to be as <br />a result of complaints by developers and contractors regarding <br />City design requirements, processing of plans and inspection of <br />commercial and industrial project site work. <br /> <br />The committee met some fifteen times, and was comprised of the <br />following people. <br /> <br /> Jim Walker - Chairman <br /> Bob Warnick - Department of Public Works <br /> Bob Okamura - Assistant City Engineer <br /> Curt Stewart - Chief Building Official <br /> Tom Terrill - Reynolds & Brown <br /> Frank Capilla - CanAm Plumbing <br /> Ted Fairfield - Consulting Civil Engineer <br /> Jack Bras - Architect <br /> Mike Cooper - Bissell & Karn/Cooper & Sword <br /> <br />Various City staff members attended meetings as specific items <br />involving their area of responsibilities were discussed. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />The committee reviewed in detail the entire City involvement with <br />onsite work (the area between the property line and the <br />building), on commercial and industrial sites. City requirements <br />regarding grading, utilities, paving, landscaping, concrete, 'and <br />lighting were discussed. The reasoning behind the requirements <br />and the developer's/contractor's complaints were reviewed. <br /> <br />SR86:146 <br /> <br /> <br />
