EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AGREEMENT <br />Page Three <br /> <br /> 17. The COUNTY shall establish allowable charges for Private billings applicable <br />to COUNT. Y-contract emergency ambulance services. The CITY shall be prov[dect <br />with the cun-ent billing rates. <br /> <br /> 18. The COUNTY shall provide the CITY wi.th copies of E.: :'S procedure manuals <br />and any revisions thereof, and shall consult with CITY when fort;' :;ating any protocols/ <br />guidelines relating to the interface of the EMS system with public safety agencies. <br />Such protocols/guidelines shall include but are not limited to: <br /> <br /> a, Patient health care management in an emergency as established <br />in Health and Safety Code Section 1798.6. <br /> <br /> b. Transportation and hospital destination of persons under arrest. <br /> <br /> c. Fire Department authority .relating to on-scene emergency managemerit <br />decisions during rescue operations. <br /> <br /> d. Police Department authority over ambulance crews when there are <br />public safety issues [gunfire, riotJ in addition to patient welfare. <br /> <br /> 19o The COUNTY shall reimburse the CITY up to the maximum amount shown <br />in "'Exhibit A" for EMT-I and related medical training f first responder personnel <br />and for purchase and maintenance of-non-ccnsumJbl~j~s~r~edical equipment approved <br />by the COUNTY for use by first responde~'s and fo uch other purposes as may <br />be approved by the COUNTY related to first responder services. However, expenditures <br />for wages or benefits paid first responder personnel shall not be eligible for r~ imburseme <br />The Board of Supervisors shall for each fiscal year set the total allocation for the. <br />District, if any, according to COUNTY'S budgeting policies and practices. <br /> <br /> 20, The CITY shall submit claims for payment to the COUNTY no later than <br />sixty [60} days following the end of the fiscal year in which the expenditure was <br />incur*red. Such claims shall be accompanied by supporting documentation as may <br />be reasonably required by the' COUNTY. The COUNTY shall reimburse the CITY <br />within sixty 160j days of receipt of CITY'S claim for payment. <br /> <br /> 21. The COUNTY shall nr0vide the CITY with the annual budget for the <br />EMS District if requested by CITY. <br /> <br /> ~;~. The CITY agrees to indemnify and to save and hold harmless the COUNTY <br />and its officers and employees from and against all claims, costs, demands, causes <br />of action, suits, losses, expenses, or other detriment or liability arising from or <br />out of CITY'5 performance of this Agreement.
