Cit, Plea_san.ton S FF 12 REPORT March 18, 1986 !~ !,'~ HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL Pleasanton, California Review and Selection of Preferred Alignments and Authorization to Enter Into Contract With Bissell & Karn, Inc. for DeSign Services - Stoneridge Drive Extension (West Las Positas Boulevard to Santa Rita Road), NPID 82-4 Members of the Council: Background On April 10, 1984 your Council approved a Mitigated Negative Declaration and General Plan Amendment 84-4. A portion of the amendment provided for the extension of Stoneridge Drive southerly across West Las Positas Boulevard, then easterly beyond the southeast corner of the Hacienda Business Park to Santa Rita Road as shown in the attached Alignment A. Since that time, discussions with local residents and the removal of the railroad and subsequent purchase of the railroad right-of-way by Prudential has provided for an alternative alignment (Alignment B, attached). A discussion of the project and the two alternative alignments follows. ~roject Descrip~io~ This project provides f3r the extension of existing six-lane Stoneridge Drive through the southeast corner lot of Hacienda Business Park, Phase I, across a six-lane bridge over the Arroyo Mocho and through the U. S. Army well fields to Santa Rita Road. Additional improvements to be provided for are the extension of the East Amador Relief Sewer along the same route, soundwalls where necessary to meet City noise requirements, widening of West Las Positas Boulevard to accommodate additional turn lanes and revising the existing traffic signals at West Las Positas Boulevard and Santa Rita Road, respectively. Landscaping and lighting, maintained by the Hacienda Owners' Association, will also be installed. SK 86:104
