Public Works <br />10. Adopted Resolution No. 08-184 abandoning a portion of a Public Service Easement <br />within Tract 5902 (742 Foxbrough Place) <br />11. Adopted Resolution No. 08-185 approving a plan for the use of Proposition 1 B <br />transportation funds and authorizing submittal to the State Department of Finance for <br />disbursement of funds; and authorized the Director of Public Works to submit the <br />application for receipt of the bond funds <br />12. Accept public improvements (the Iron Horse Trail) for Tract 7381, Ironwood Development <br />(Ponderosa Homes) and authorized filing a notice of completion <br />13. Approve a reimbursement agreement between the City and Austin Briggs Investment for <br />the construction of the Alviso Adobe Park entrance and parking lot, and allocating funds <br />for consultant engineering services, CIP No. 987025; authorized the City Manager to <br />execute the reimbursement agreement and the Director of Public Works to use up to <br />$60,000 for a contingency amount for the project <br />Motion: It was m/s by Cook-Kallio/McGovern to approve Consent Calendar as submitted and as <br />noted. Proclamation Proclaiming April 13 to April 19 "Week of the Young Child" <br />Councilmember Cook-Kallio presented the Proclamation, proclaiming April 13 to April 19 the <br />"Week of the Young Child" to Jill Maratsos, President of the Parent Board of the Friends of <br />Gingerbread and read the proclamation. <br />Ms. Maratsos, President of the Parent Board of the Friends of Gingerbread, introduced Laura, <br />Heidi, Ryan and Olivia Bailey; Julie and Mateo Castillo; Joel, Jason and Emily Johnson; and <br />Kelly and Maggie French, and on behalf of Gingerbread Preschool she thanked the Council for <br />the proclamation and spoke about the Week of the Young Child which is designed to make the <br />most of the unique opportunities for children in the early years. She reported the preschool will <br />be participating in a Food Drive for the Tri-Valley Haven, will hold their annual Ice Cream Social <br />on Saturday, April 19 from 1-3 PM, <br />Julie Castillo discussed the Brick Fundraiser for their playground, said personalized bricks sell <br />for $125 each and interested donors can contact their office, <br />Heidi Bailey thanked the Council for their support with the playground and building renovation <br />and presented a donation in the amount of $10,000 for the preschool's renovation projects. <br />Pictures were taken of the group and the Council also recognized Becky Hopkins who manages <br />the program for the City. <br />City Council Minutes 3 April 15, 2008 <br />
