PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. PC-87-50
RESOLUTION APPROVING UP-87-17, CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
FOR WILLIAM AND MARY PLUMMER
WHEREAS, William and Mary Plummer have applied for a conditional
use permit to retain an existing skateboard ramp within
the side yard of an existing residence located at 4754
Sutter Gate Avenue; and
WHEREAS, zoning for the property is R-1-6500 (Single-family
Residential) District; and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of May 13, 1987,
the Planning Commission considered all public testimony,
relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff
concerning this application; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings:
A. That the proposed location of the conditional use
is in accordance with the objectives of the zoning
ordinance and the purposes of the district in which
the site is located.
As relocated as conditioned below (in the side yard
opposite that in which it is currently located),
the skateboard ramp would be consistent with the
purposes of the R-1 (Single-Family Residential)
District in which the site is located. The
relevant purposes are to preserve areas for family
living, to ensure adequate privacy and open space,
and to protect residential properties from noise
and other objectionable influences.
B. That the proposed location of the conditional use
and the conditions under which it would be operated
or maintained will not be detrimental to the public
health, safety, or welfare, or materially inferior
to the properties or improvements in the vicinity.
As approved, the applicants would be required to
bring their skateboard ramp into conformance with
recently approved noise, siting, and construction
standards. These standards, which were established
in Ordinance No. 1273, where designed to minimize
the potential for detriment to the public health,
safety, and welfare and to preserve the integrity
of surrounding properties.
- 1 -
