IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $162,149 FOR ANNUAL SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE, <br />CIP NO. 075012 <br />SUMMARY <br />Bids have been received for the subject project and staff is recommending award of the <br />construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder in the amount of $162,148.73. <br />The project consists of the removal and replacement of damaged concrete curb and <br />gutter, sidewalk, driveways and curb through drains and installation of new access <br />ramps on various City streets. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve the plans and specifications for this project. <br />2. Review the bids received and award the construction contract for the subject project <br />to George Bianchi Construction Inc. of San Jose in the amount of $162,148.73. <br />3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the above contract. <br />4. Authorize the Director of Public Works to approve and execute contract change <br />orders for a contingency amount not-to-exceed $33,000 (approximately 20% of the <br />contract) for necessary related subject project work. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />This project will replace and upgrade existing infrastructure and should not increase <br />maintenance costs. <br />
