*How do I use the Downtown Route? <br />o Be a registered PPS rider. <br />o Purchase a Downtown Route ticket. <br />o Be at any of the schedule stops at the designated day and time. <br />o Upon boarding bus hand the driver the DR ticket. Driver will then stamp your <br />hand for all-day access. <br />o For multiple trips on same day, board bus and show driver your stamped hand. <br />*How do I get registered for the Downtown Route service? <br />o Mail, Drop-off, or FAX a Pleasanton Paratransit Service (PPS) application to <br />the Pleasanton Senior Center, 5353 Sunol Blvd., Pleasanton , CA 94566. <br />o Fax number (925) 485-3685. <br />o PPS application are available on-line at www.ci_pleasanton.ca.us. <br />*What is the difference between the regular Pleasanton Paratransit Service <br />(PPS) program and the Downtown Route (DR)? <br />PPS is aMonday-Saturday, door-to-door shared ride transportation program for <br />Pleasanton and Sunol residents 60 years of age, or older, and Americans with Disabilities <br />Act (ADA) eligible residents. PPS provides rides to any location within Pleasanton City <br />limits and adjacent unincorporated areas, with some medical destinations in Dublin, <br />Livermore, and San Ramon. Advance reservations are required for this program. Fees are <br />charged for each one-way ride. <br />The Downtown Route provides a transit route with scheduled stops that run <br />throughout downtown Pleasanton, connecting with local senior housing complexes on <br />specified days of the week. Only one (1) mini-bus will be implementing the pilot Downtown <br />Route service. Riders will be allowed entry on a first-come, first-serve capacity. It is <br />available to all PPS riders. Reservations are not required. Riders pay once per day and have <br />unlimited access for the remainder of the day. <br />*Can I use both the PPS and Downtown Route on the same day? <br />Yes, for instance, if you have a medical appointment in the morning at Va1leyCare, <br />you will have to have an advanced reservation for the regular PPS program and will be <br />charged a fee each way. In the afternoon, you can then hop on and off the Downtown Route <br />at any stop for one (1) low daily fare. <br />*Does the Downtown Route go to Stoneridge Mall or Wal-Mart? <br />No, but by connecting to a WHEELS bus at the First Street and Neal Street transfer <br />stop, riders 65 plus can ride throughout the City, to BART, Dublin and Livermore <br />destinations from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday -Friday, free of charge. <br />Questions ? ? ? <br />Call: Pleasanton Paratransit Service Office, (925) 931-5376. <br />
