MINUTES <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 18, 2008 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Hosterman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilmember McGovern led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Introductory Comments <br />Councilmember McGovern gave the following introductory comments: The City of Pleasanton <br />Civic Arts Presents program features Grammy winner Bill Harley on Thursday, March 20th; Job <br />seekers and employers-- is the only website that exclusively posts the available jobs in the Tri- <br />Valley region, the site offers more than 100 jobs weekly and is constantly updated by employers <br />based in the Tri-Valley cities of Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton and San Ramon; the Pleasanton <br />Downtown Association has unveiled a new `Downtown Pleasanton' gift card. The cards are <br />available in any denomination from $10 to $500, and are accepted at more than 80 participating <br />shops, galleries, restaurants, spas, and service companies throughout Downtown Pleasanton. <br />Roll Call <br />Present: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Absent: None <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />Mayor Hosterman said a Closed Session was scheduled immediately following the regular <br />agenda session regarding the Oak Grove property which is a placeholder to allow the Council to <br />hold discussion, should the Superior Court Judge make a final ruling which had not yet been <br />done. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Administrative Services <br />Approved regular meeting minutes of March 4, 2008 <br />2. Pursuant to Memorandum of Understanding between City and IAFF Local 1974 adopted <br />Resolution No. 08-175 declaring the intent to approve an amendment to the contract with <br />California Public Employees Retirement System to provide Section 21548 Pre-Retirement <br />Option 2W Death Benefit for Local Fire members and introduction of Ordinance No. 1973 <br />authorizing said contract amendment <br />Fire <br />3. Adopted Resolution No. 08-176 declaring that weeds, dirt, rubbish, and refuse upon or in <br />front of certain described properties within the City constitute public nuisances and that <br />they be abated and set April 15, 2008 as the public hearing date <br />Parks and Community Services <br />4. Approved appointments of Community-at-large member Joe Streng and Community-at- <br />large alternate Julie Casamajor to the Trails Ad Hoc Committee <br />
