PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. PC-87-80a
RESOLUTION APPROVING A USE PERMIT FOR ST. AUGUSTINE'S
CATHOLIC CHURCH AS FILED UNDER CASE UP-87-23
WHEREAS, St. Augustine's Catholic Church has applied for a
conditional use permit to install an approximately 1,450
square foot temporary trailer facility for
office/meeting room use at an existing church complex
located at 900 East Angela Street; and
WHEREAS, zoning for the property is "A" (Agricultural) District;
and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of July 22, 1987,
the Planning Commission considered all public testimony,
relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings:
A. That the proposed locatio
is in accordance with the
ordinance and the purposes
the site is located.
n of the conditional use
objectives of the zoning
of the district in which
The zoning ordinance requires accessory structure
to obtain a conditional use permit in conjunction
with the conditional use of the Church facility.
The trailer is a passive use which is consistent
with the objectives of the church. The proposed
use is temporary, and considering its distance from
adjoining uses, vegetation and topography, should
not interfere with surrounding residential uses to
the west and north.
B. That the proposed location of the conditional use
and the conditions under which it would be operated
or maintained will not be detrimental to the public
health, safety, or welfare, or materially injurious
to the properties or improvements in the vicinity.
The temporary trailer would be located on an
abandoned basketball court in the northeast corner
of the site. The use would be of a passive nature,
and, hence, not disturb the surrounding residences.
The trailer would be separated from nearby occupied
residences by approximately 360' to the north and
500' to the west. Therefore, the proposed use will
not be detrimental to the public health, safety and
- 1 -
