PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION N0. PC-87-05
RESOLUTION APPROVING CASE UP-86-53, APPLICATION OF WEST
STATES DEVELOPMENT AND BERNAL AVENUE ASSOCIATES
WHEREAS, West States Development Company and Bernal Avenue
Associates has applied for conditional use permit
approval to allow a daycare facility on the
approximately 1.2 acre site located on the north side of
Koll Center Parkway approximately 250 feet west of the
intersection of Valley Avenue and Koll Center Parkway;
and
WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit
Development) - Industrial, Commercial and Offices
District; and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of January 14, 1987
the Planning Commission considered all public testimony,
relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff
concerning this application; and
WHEREAS, an environmental impact report was prepared for the
rezoning and PUD approval for this business park. A
specific project of this type was included within the
scope of that EIR. Therefore no further environmental
document need be considered at this time; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings:
A. That the proposed location of the conditional use
is in accordance with the objectives of the zoning
ordinance and the purposes of the district in which
the site is located.
The project is located in the PUD (Planned Unit
Development) - Industrial/Commercial and Office
Zoning District. The use would be appropriate for
the zoning district since the facility would
provide a very needed service, child care, for the
employees within the business park. By approving
this use, the City would conform to the General
Plan Program (Land-Use Element, Program 6.3), which
states: "Encourage business parks and large
employers to provide on-site child care
facilities".
- 1 -
