8
THE CITY OF
- -~- ~"' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
j~L£~S~NTON®
April 1, 2008
Planning and Community Development
TITLE: INFORMATION CONCERNING THE CITY OF DUBLIN'S REQUEST TO
RELOCATE STRUCTURES LOCATED ON THE FORMER KOLB
RANCH PROPERTY AT 11393 DUBLIN CANYON ROAD TO DUBLIN
HISTORIC PARK
SUMMARY
The City of Dublin recently adopted its Dublin Historic Park Master Plan which involves
creating the Dublin Historic Park on the site of the former Dublin Square Shopping
Center. Historically, this site was contiguous to land owned by the Kolb family, which
also owned property in Pleasanton that was directly connected to old Dublin Village
before construction of Highway 50 and later the I-580 Freeway. As part of the Master
Plan, the City of Dublin is contemplating relocating the Kolb Ranch residential and farm
structures currently existing in Pleasanton on Dublin Canyon Road to the Historic Park
in Dublin. Given that the Kolb Ranch structures are not planned for any use at the
current location, that neither the buildings nor the Pleasanton site have been planned
for park use, and that the structures would reinforce and re-create the historic setting
that the City of Dublin is planning for its historic park, Dublin is seeking Council support
for the relocation of these structures to Dublin's Historic Park.
RECOMMENDATION
Accept the report and adopt a motion supporting the relocation of the structures to the
Dublin Historic Park.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
There is no cost to the City for this project.
