ATTACHMENT 4
Dear Jenny Soo,
I spoke to you yesterday regarding plans for developing the lot on Vineyard
Ave, the proposed 10-unit project. I am a neighbor close to that lot which
feels that adding more multi unit dwellings will have a negative impact on
my home - I live in a HOA named Heritage Gardens. Since I am opposed to
this project would you please present this email, on my behalf, as 1 am
unable to attend the meeting this evening. My name is Susan Alimonti and
I live at Carnation Ct.
1 feel the population density that exists on this particular block is more than
the area can support. If you take into account this particular block is made
up of mostly apartments buildings, it is particularly congested. And by
congested I specifically am referring to automobiles and the spaces and
areas for parking. I live in a HOA, paying HOA dues, and we are supposed
to have private streets. However, as it is now we have overflow parking on
our court and on the cross street, Vine, from the tenants and/or guests of
the adjacent apartments. Since the recent development on Birch Creek
was built it appears parking has worsened, with more occurrences of
apartment tenants parking in our private court.
With this proposed plan to build 10 more units, combined with the recently
built multi unit development on Birch Creek, the parking situation will only
exacerbated. With each unit comes usually two or more cars. Where will
available parking come from? Each new unit does not allow for all the
additional vehicles that come with the families and/or guests of each unit.
Since I bought my home in 1998 I have written the city on two occasions to
express that the overflow parking is diminishing my property value not to
mention an extreme nuisance. It's very unappealing to find trash left
behind, glass, bear bottles and the noises from strangers consistently
parking in close vicinity to my home. At times it is a very uncomfortable
living condition. The City planning commission will not consider blocking
Vine St. so homeowners and apartment tenants are separated. So, I ask
you please deny any more plans for additional multi unit dwellings on or
next to this block.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Susan Alimonti
