THE CITY OF <br />L£ ~S~NTONo <br />March 18, 2008 <br />Parks and Community Services <br />TITLE: APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE TRAILS AD HOC COMMITTEE <br />SUMMARY <br />In November 2007, the City Council appointed two (2) members to the Trails Ad Hoc <br />Committee to fill vacancies due to expiring terms. These members were recommended <br />by the Parks and Recreation Commission based on interviews conducted with the <br />applicants. In December 2007, another member of the Trails Ad Hoc Committee <br />resigned, and that position needs to be filled. Based on the original interviews, the <br />Commission is forwarding the next recommended nominees to the City Council for <br />consideration. If approved, the nominees would assume their positions on March 19, <br />2008. <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br />That the City Council: <br />(1) Approve the appointment of Joe Streng from Alternate to Community-at- <br />Large member; and <br />(2) Approve the appointment of Julia Casamajor as Community-at-Large <br />alternate. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff concurs with the Commission's recommendations. <br />4 <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />
