BACKGROUND <br />In October 2001, Scott and Laurie Smith received an approval for an addition of approximately <br />963 square feet to the existing two-story home. That approval brought the originally constructed <br />2,148-square-foot home to a total of 3,111 square feet. They <br />have described dismay to the Smith's that the originally approved 2001 project has taken this <br />long to complete. <br />While the Smith's continue construction, they determined certain additional improvement would <br />further enhance their property. The Smith's obtained a permit and started the construction of a <br />swimming pool in the rear yard. Later, the Smith's have expanded the 2001 project by adding <br />an approximately 273 square feet above the existing garage for abathroom/laundry room/master <br />closet, and an approximately 64 square-foot single story addition to the left of the existing home <br />as a bathroom.
