THE CITY OF 11 <br />- -- ~ ~i ° -~-' "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j~L£ ~AS~4NTONo <br />March 4, 2008 <br />Public Works Department <br />TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY DESILVA <br />GATES CONSTRUCTION FOR RESURFACING OF VARIOUS CITY <br />STREETS, CIP NO. 075003 <br />SUMMARY <br />This project consisted of the resurfacing <br />various City streets. Construction of the <br />acceptance by the City Council. <br />of approximately 1,015,000 square feet of <br />subject project is complete and ready for <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Accept the improvements for the subject project. <br />2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the subject project. <br />3. Authorize final payment to DeSilva Gates Construction in the amount of $961.56. <br />4. Authorize payment of the project retention in the amount of $159,243.79 to DeSilva <br />Gates Construction thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />This project is part of the City's ongoing maintenance efforts to replace the deteriorated <br />pavement surfaces of City streets. It is anticipated that ongoing maintenance and <br />resurfacing will extend the useful life of the roadway system and reduce overall long- <br />term replacement costs. <br />
