FOR VINEYARD AVENUE MEDIAN STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS, CIP NO. 055031 AND ADOPT A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE AREA ON VINEYARD AVENUE 400 FEET WEST AND 250 FEET EAST OF CEREZA DRIVE AS A FOUR-HOUR PARKING ZONE SUMMARY The project has been completed and is ready for acceptance. The subject project consists of a two-inch asphalt concrete open graded overlay and new raised concrete landscape medians on Vineyard Avenue between Bernal Avenue and Leona Place. As part of the public outreach process for the project improvements, residents from the Vineyard Villa Mobile Home Park asked for the creation of a four-hour parking zone in front of the mobile home park in order to maintain parking for events and discourage vehicles being advertised for sale. This item is now being presented to Council for consideration. RECOMMENDATION 1. Accept the improvements for the subject project. 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the subject project. 3. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $81,578.05 to O'Grady Paving Inc. thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. 4. Authorize final payment to O'Grady Paving Inc. in the amount of $731.50. 5. Adopt a resolution designating the area on Vineyard Avenue 400 feet west and 250 feet east of Cereza Drive as a four-hour limited time parking zone. FINANCIAL STATEMENT The project will extend the service life of approximately 270,000 square feet of asphalt paving roadway. Approximately 55,000 square feet of new landscaping will require routine maintenance and irrigation, resulting in an estimated additional cost of $10,500 per year. The four-hour parking zone will require the installation of parking signs at an approximate cost of $250.00 and an annual maintenance cost of approximately $50. It will also require enforcement by the Pleasanton Police Department.
