17 <br />THE CITY OF <br />-~ ~ CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />PL£~S~4NTONa <br />February 19, 2008 <br />Parks and Community Services <br />TITLE: UPDATE ON ALVISO ADOBE COMMUNITY PARK PROJECT AND <br />OPERATING PARTNERSHIP WITH MUSEUM ON MAIN STREET <br />SUMMARY <br />Construction of Alviso Adobe Community Park is currently on schedule and the project <br />is targeted for completion in July, 2008, with programming scheduled to begin in <br />October, 2008 (following the required maintenance period). Pursuant to the Agreement <br />between the City and the Amador Livermore Valley Historical Society (ALVHS)/Museum <br />on Main Street, awarded by the City Council on July 17, 2007, staff from both agencies <br />initiated development of the interpretive plan and programming elements for the park. <br />The Agreement calls for technical assistance from ALVHS personnel to help develop an <br />interpretive plan that will be fully implemented by the City. In addition, ALVHS staff will <br />provide administrative assistance for collaborative/coordinated school programs at the <br />Museum on Main Street and Alviso Adobe, display designs, docent coordination, and <br />collections management services. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />This is an information report; no specific Council action is required, however, staff will <br />provide a photo presentation of construction progress. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There are no financial implications associated with this report. Sufficient funds for <br />construction of the Alviso Adobe Community Park are included in the current Capital <br />Improvement Program (CIP). <br />
