BACKGROUND
On July 16, 2002, the City entered into atwo-year contract with Dowling Associates to
prepare traffic impact studies for proposed new development, perform traffic model work
for Baseline Traffic Reports, City Specific Plans and General Plan Amendments, for
additional fine-tuning of the City's traffic model, and for the preparation of alternative
model runs that analyze various roadway network options.
The term of the original contract was for Fiscal Years 2002-03 and 2003-04 for an
amount not-to-exceed $250,000 annually. The contract was previously amended on
June 21, 2005 and July 18, 2006 by the City Council for one-year extensions. Due to
the continued work on the General Plan, staff recommends amending the contract to
extend through Fiscal Year 2007/08 with a contract limit not to exceed $100,000 for the
fiscal year. Upon completion of the General Plan Circulation work, staff will request
proposals from transportation consulting firms and establish a new contract for on-call
traffic consulting work and traffic model development/refinement.
Submitted by:
~a,c.. ~, ..~
Rob Wilson
Public Works Director
Fiscal Review:
_ y
-~
David P.
