Exhibit A <br />Scope of Services for <br />Landscape and Gateway Improvement Project at the Hopyard Road and I-580 Interchange <br />December 19, 2007 <br />o Note: Although the available budget may not allow for the entire project area to be <br />constructed, the preliminary design plans will address the entire project area identified in the <br />RFP. <br />^ Work with Staffs construction cost estimator to develop a preliminary Construction Cost Estimate for <br />the proposed plans. Revise plans as required to meet the construction budget. <br />^ Present a draft Landscape Design Plan for Staff for review and feedback. <br />^ Revise, modify or refine the Landscape Design Plan to reflect Staff comments. Submit to Staff for <br />review and feedback. <br />^ Coordinate with Caltrans for their review and comments on the preliminary designs. <br />^ Prepare and submit a final Landscape Design package (including construction cost information) to <br />Staff. <br />Work Product No. 3: Construction Document Package <br />Upon receiving Staff approval of the Landscape Design Plan, preparation for and coordination with the <br />required approving agencies will occur, to ensure that the necessary reviews are scheduled on a timely <br />basis. <br />Refine Landscape Design Plan as necessary and update construction cost information, and begin <br />preparation of construction documentation. <br />Submit in-progress construction documents (at 50% and 90% completion), including Existing <br />Conditions and Demolition Plans, Site Plans, Grading and Drainage Plans, Irrigation Plans, Planting <br />Plans, Details and Specifications to Staff for review and feedback. <br />o Note: Due to the limited budget, which is approximately $275,000, it is assumed that the <br />entire project area may not be constructed. Therefore, although the plans will provide <br />improvements for the entire project site it will identify base bid and additive alternate <br />improvement areas or items to ensure that the base bid improvements can be constructed <br />under the available budget. <br />Prepare final 100% Construction Document package. <br />Submit documents to Caltrans as required for their review and approval. <br />Work Product No. 4: Construction Review <br />Coordinate with the City, to ensure the correct and timely bidding and construction of the project. <br />^ Review all material submittals and ship drawings for compliance with contract documents. <br />^ Visit construction site (assume five visits) to observe the progress of the work and to respond to <br />ongoing construction developments and issues. <br />^ Complete punch list verifying final construction compliance to approved construction documents. <br />Project Schedule <br />The following schedule summarizes the major work products with associated timeline based on the <br />approach to the proposed services detailed above: <br />WORK PRODUCT TIMELINE <br />1.
