1 <br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 15, 2008 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Hosterman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilmember McGovern led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Introductory Comments <br />Councilmember McGovern announced the following upcoming events: Jim Gamble Puppets at <br />Amador Theater on Saturday, January 26"'; "Truffles, Tidbits and Wine Tasting will be held on <br />Thursday, February 7th and the Annual Wine Stroll, Thursday, February 7th. In addition, she <br />noted the City of Pleasanton participation in the 2-1-1 system in Alameda County. <br />Roll Call <br />Present: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Absent: None <br />Closed Session Report <br />City Attorney Roush reported out on Closed Session regarding the matter of pending litigation <br />regarding Linn vs. City Clerk. An item on the agenda was to receive a report regarding the <br />certification of the Oak Grove referendum petition. In the litigation, a temporary restraining order <br />has been issued today which will restrain the City Clerk from making a report out, and the item <br />will be removed from the council calendar. There will be a further hearing with respect to <br />whether the restraining order will continue and that will be a preliminary injunction hearing, <br />which will be held sometime in early February. <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />Mayor Hosterman proposed moving the discussion of Item 20; the Gingerbread Preschool, up <br />on the agenda and acknowledged that the City Clerk's certification item has been removed from <br />the agenda. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Administrative Services <br />1. Approved workshop and special meeting minutes of November 8, 2007, regular meeting <br />minutes of December 4, 2007, special meeting minutes of December 19, and as corrected <br />regular meeting minutes of December 18, 2007 <br />2. Introduced Ordinance No. 1967 amending sections 1.04.090, 3.20.120, and 5.24.030 of <br />the Pleasanton Municipal Code regarding Claims Against the City <br />
