Pa eg 3-35 Commissioner Blank suggested that the first sentence of Program 1.6 be modified to read as follows: "...until such time as the Stoneridge Drive extension is approved for construction and constructed...." Ms. Stern believed that the extension would be approved by adoption of the General Plan. Commissioner Blank noted that it needed to go to City Council before it could be constructed, even if it was in the General Plan. Ms. Stern noted that it needed to be funded. Mr. Tassano stated that this was the approval mechanism for accepted improvements and that any improvement must be brought back. Commissioner Pearce noted that she could not support that change until she had clarity on the process. Chairperson Fox requested that staff re-examine that language with respect to the process. She suggested that language similar to the deleted Program 1.7 on page 3-36 regarding the construction of the West Las Positas Boulevard/I-680 interchange be added with respect to the extension of Stoneridge Drive. Ms. Stern did not believe that was the intent of Council in this case. Commissioner Blank concurred with Ms. Stern, but did feel strongly that it should read: "...until such time as the Stoneridge Drive Extension is approved for construction by the City Council." He suggested that • Policy 3.1 be revised to include stronger language regarding computerized synchronization. Commissioner Pearce noted that she had seen many synchronized signals in the City.
