Circulation Element <br />Program 8.1: Allocate a share of each year's Capital Improvement Program to <br />street maintenance, roadway improvements, and traffic <br />management. <br />Program 8.2: Monitor and record roadway accidents, and recommend safety <br />improvements, where needed. <br />Program 8.3: Separate vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, whenever <br />feasible, especially on routes to schools. <br />Program 8.4: Provide bike lanes on arterials and collector streets, where <br />feasible. <br />Program 8.5: Restrict parking near intersections to ensure visibility and traffic <br />safety. <br />Program 8.6: Require the installation of bus turnouts and shelters along <br />planned or potential transit routes. <br />Program 8.7: Develop atraffic-safety methodology for traffic studies and then <br />require that traffic studies prepared for the Ciry include a traffic <br />safety section. <br />Policy 9: Work with other local jurisdictions and regional agencies such as the Metropolitan <br />Transportation Commission (MTC), Alameda County Congestion Management <br />Agency (ACCMA), Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority <br />(ACTIA), and Tri Valley Transportation Council to plan and coordinate regional <br />transportation improvements. <br />Program 9.1: Support State and regional efforts to implement the Tri-Valley <br />Triangle Study Projects. <br />Program 9.2: Support State and regional efforts to improve State Route 84 <br />including the widening to four lanes between Pigeon Pass and I- <br />680. <br />Policy 10: Require adequate on- and off-street parking. <br />Program 10.1: Enforce the parking provisions of the City's Zoning Ordinance. <br />For Planned Unit Developments with the potential for shared <br />parking or where located proximate to transit, consider <br />modifications to Zoning Ordinance parking standards, when <br />necessary and if appropriate. <br />Program 10.2: Work with BART to continue monitoring the adequacy of <br />parking supply at Pleasanton/Dublin stations. <br />Circulation Element 012908 clean 3-48 City Counti1012908 <br />
