THE CITY Of
I
__ ~w ~ III J Y w1~ 1111 __
~L~~S~NTONo
December 18, 2007
Public Works Department
TITLE: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT A PORTION OF
(OLD) VINEYARD AVENUE EAST OF MACHADO PLACE IS SURPLUS
PROPERTY AND ABANDONING THE CITY'S INTEREST THEREIN
SUMMARY
As a result of the realignment of Vineyard Avenue, a portion of Old Vineyard Avenue is
surplus right-of-way. This surplus right-of-way is approximately 26,250 square feet, and
is located between Machado Place and new Vineyard Avenue, just east of Fire Station
No. 5. Upon abandonment, a 50-foot wide portion of the right-of-way would vest in
Centex Homes, the property owner of lot 30, and one of the Vineyard Avenue estates of
Tract 7385. The remaining 18-foot wide area would vest in the adjacent property
owner, Michael Katz Winery.
RECOMMENDATION
1. Approve the attached resolution declaring an approximately 26,250 square foot
portion of Old Vineyard Avenue as surplus property and authorize the City Clerk to
record the resolution abandoning the City's interest therein.
14
CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
There will be no fiscal impact to the City by declaring this portion of right-of-way as
surplus and abandoning the City's interest therein.
