13 <br />THE CITY OF <br />'= `~'~' °~ ~ ~'~'~ ~"' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j~L£~S~NTONo <br />January 15, 2008 <br />Public Works Department <br />TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY VANGUARD <br />CONSTRUCTION FOR ANNUAL CURB AND GUTTER REPLACEMENTS, <br />CIP NO. 065009 <br />SUMMARY <br />Construction of the subject project is complete and is ready for acceptance. The <br />subject project consisted of the removal and replacement of damaged curb, gutter, <br />sidewalk and driveway, and installation of access ramps on streets scheduled for <br />resurfacing. The objective of this project is to improve drainage and pedestrian safety. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Accept the improvements for this project. <br />2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the subject project. <br />3. Authorize final payment to Vanguard Construction in the amount of $630. <br />4. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $33,077.25 to Vanguard <br />Construction thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br />5. Authorize the City Manager to transfer the remaining balance of $33,087.50 from <br />the subject project, CIP No. 065009 (Annual Curb and Gutter Replacement), to <br />CIP No. 065005 (Annual Sidewalk/Intersection Ramp Installation). <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />This project will result in a decrease in the maintenance costs associated with the <br />ongoing repairs of the existing curb and gutter and sidewalk. <br />
