Page 2 <br />Contribution Limitations. <br />A. No contribution shall be accepted by any candidate or candidate's committee <br />except during an election period. <br />B. No person, organization or committee shall make any contribution to a candidate <br />or candidate's committee which exceeds a cumulative total of two hundred and fifty <br />dollars ($250) during any election period, nor shall any candidate or candidate's <br />committee accept any contribution which exceeds a cumulative total of two hundred and <br />fifty dollars ($250) from any person, organization or committee during an election <br />period. <br />If the contribution limitation set forth in Section B., above, is exceeded, the <br />candidate or candidate's committee must, within ten (10) days of receipt, <br />return to the contributor the amount in excess of two hundred and fifty <br />dollars ($250) in monetary value form. <br />C. The contribution limit set forth in this chapter shall not apply to contributions <br />made by a candidate to his or her own campaign. <br />D. The contribution limit set forth in this chapter shall not apply to contributions <br />made or received in support of, or opposition to, a ballot measure. <br />Verification of Compliance. <br />A. Each candidate and candidate's committee shall execute a verification under <br />penalty of perjury, in a form provided by the City Clerk, stating that such candidate or <br />candidate's committee did not receive any cumulative contributions of more than two <br />hundred and fifty dollars ($250) from any person, organization or committee in the <br />election period.
