MEMORANDUM
July 8, 1977
TO: Director of Planning
FROM: Director of Engineering Services
SUBJECT: Report on Tentative Map, Tract 3897, as
required by Section 2-2.07, Article 1,
Chapter 1, Title II of the Ordinance Code.
This report represents consideration by the Department of
Engineering Services and may not contain comments on all of
the concerns of other City Departments an interested public
agencies.
Streets
Hopyard Road and Black Avenue are existing and no changes are
contemplated. A four foot wide separated sidewalk will be re-
quired along the Black Avenue frontage with bicycle traffic in
the street area adjacent to the curb. A ten foot wide sidewalk
will be required along the Hopyard Road frontage for combined
pedestrian-bicycle use. A five foot wide sidewalk will be re-
quired adjacent tb the curb around the perimeter of the frontage
road bulb.
Handicapped ramps will be installed as required.
The interior streets will be nominal private drives with blanket
public service easements to afford access to service vehicles.
The precise design of these interior drives will be subject to
review of final design plans. 6" vertical concrete curbs will
be required adjacent to landscape areas.
Storm Drainage
Storm runoff from this development will be collected on site and
channeled to the existing on-site storm drain system. Concrete
valley gutters will be required along portions of the centerline
of the interior drives. Approval should be withheld pending final
design.
Sanitary Sewer System
Each dwelling unit in this development will have a private lateral
which connects to a public main in the interior drive. The pro-
posed public system will flow to the existing 10" sewer in Black
Avenue and then to the Sunol Plant. Approval should be withheld
pending final design.
