September 23, 1977 <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED CHANGES TO THE <br />COMMITTEE-RECOMMENDED RESIDENTIAL ALLOCATION PROGRAM <br />Draft Ordinance <br />1. Section 2-13.01 (page 1): <br />Add a new paragraph at the end of the section: <br />This ordinance does not apply to commercial/industrial develop- <br />ments. The growth which has occurred in the City in the past <br />has been heavily in favor of residential development. In <br />order to encourage commercial/industrial uses which will assist <br />in employing residents of Pleasanton and help decrease depend- <br />ency upon commuting to the Hayward-Oakland area for employment, <br />the City Council does not wish to limit the number of commercial/ <br />industrial connections which will be available annually. <br />2. Section 2-13.02(f)(2) (page 2): <br />Delete the words "surburban sprawl" and begin the subsection <br />as follows: "The construction of residential developments..." <br />3. Section 2-13.02 (page 3) <br />Add a new subsection as follows: <br />(g) A large amount of the acreage to be developed in the City <br />of Pleasanton within the next twenty years is set aside <br />for commercial/industrial uses in order to encourage <br />greater amounts of in-valley employment. <br />4. Section 2-13.03 (page 3): <br />Add a new subsection as follows: <br />(i) Encourage greater commercial/industrial developmenostunities <br />order to provide greater in-valley employment opp <br />for present and future residents of present and future <br />residential developments. <br />5, Section 2-13.06(a) (page 4): <br />Change the subsection to read: <br />(a) The Residential Allocation Program shall be administered <br />by a Residential Allocation Board composed of the City <br />Council. <br />
