September 23, 1977 PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED CHANGES TO THE COMMITTEE-RECOMMENDED RESIDENTIAL ALLOCATION PROGRAM Draft Ordinance 1. Section 2-13.01 (page 1): Add a new paragraph at the end of the section: This ordinance does not apply to commercial/industrial develop- ments. The growth which has occurred in the City in the past has been heavily in favor of residential development. In order to encourage commercial/industrial uses which will assist in employing residents of Pleasanton and help decrease depend- ency upon commuting to the Hayward-Oakland area for employment, the City Council does not wish to limit the number of commercial/ industrial connections which will be available annually. 2. Section 2-13.02(f)(2) (page 2): Delete the words "surburban sprawl" and begin the subsection as follows: "The construction of residential developments..." 3. Section 2-13.02 (page 3) Add a new subsection as follows: (g) A large amount of the acreage to be developed in the City of Pleasanton within the next twenty years is set aside for commercial/industrial uses in order to encourage greater amounts of in-valley employment. 4. Section 2-13.03 (page 3): Add a new subsection as follows: (i) Encourage greater commercial/industrial developmenostunities order to provide greater in-valley employment opp for present and future residents of present and future residential developments. 5, Section 2-13.06(a) (page 4): Change the subsection to read: (a) The Residential Allocation Program shall be administered by a Residential Allocation Board composed of the City Council.
