PLANNING COMMISSION <br />City of Pleasanton <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1411 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING TO <br />THE CITY COUNCIL THE ADOPTION OF GP-76-2. <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has considered a general <br />n amendment to the circulation element for that area bounded <br />Highway I-580, Hopyard Road, Tassajara Road and the extension <br />West Las Positas Boulevard between Hopyard Road and Santa <br />to Road; and <br />WHEREAS, an ad hoc committee comprised of Planning and <br />ineering staff, the Assistant City Manager and representatives <br />f the Val Vista and Pleasanton Meadows subdivisions met on <br />separate occasions to discuss this matter; and <br />WHEREAS, complete agreement was not reached since some <br />itizens on the committee wished the eastern terminus of the <br />road shown exactly, while the staff contended that the <br />resent level of land use in the area is too uncertain to es- <br />ablish that alignment; and <br />WHEREAS, two policy statements for street development in <br />he study area were agreed upon by the ad hoc committee, these <br />eing prohibition of direct access to Hopyard Road from future <br />and uses along that thoroughfare, and the establishment of a <br />ity policy to direct traffic generated by uses in the study <br />rea in a northerly direction in order that this traffic may <br />e channeled onto the freeway as rapidly and directly as possible; <br />WHEREAS, at their May 12, 1976 meeting, the Planning Com- <br />ssion received the staff report, heard testimony, and reviewed <br />rtinent maps and data. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION of the City of <br />leasanton resolves as follows: <br />Section 1.
