PLANNING COMMISSION
CITY OF PLEASANTON
COUNTY OF ALAMEDA
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION N0. 1463
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF PLEASANTON GRANTING A CONDITIONAL
USE PERMIT TO EXPAND THE EXISTING GUEST HOME
AT 588 ST. JOHN STREET, TO ALLOW THE ADDITION
OF FIVE GUESTS.
WHEREAS, Ester Calupig has applied for a conditional use permit
to expand the existing guest home at 588 St. John
Street to allow the addition of five guests, with the
additional guests to be housed in the existing building;
and
WHEREAS, zoning for the property is RM-1500 (Multiple Residential)
District; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on this application on
November 10, 1976, at which time, pertinent testimony,
documents and maps were reviewed; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, after reviewing all available
information, made the following findings:
A. That because the location of the subject property
is in the multi-residential district, the presence
of a guest home of the type currently in use by
the applicant is appropriate and in accord with
the purposes set forth in Sec. 2-6.22 of the RM
(Multi-Family Residential) District.
B. That because of the nature of the use, the proposed
location of the conditional use and the conditions
under which it would be operated or maintained
will not be detrimental to the public health,
safety or welfare or materially injurious to
properties or improvements in the vicinity, in
that the residents of the guest home are ambu-
latory senior citizens who do not drive and thus,
the impacts of the home's increase in size will
be limited to additional pedestrian traffic.
C.
That the proposed conditional use will comply with
each of the applicable provisions of this chapter ~
except as modified by Variance V-76-23 when approved.
