PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION N0. 1376 <br />A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF POPULATION <br />BENCH MARKS TO THE TENTATIVELY ADOPTED GENERAL PLAN <br />GA3EREAS, on December 17,1973, the City Council of the City of <br />Pleasanton tentatively adopted a new General Plan for <br />the City which set forth the projection that the ultima <br />holding capacity for the City of Pleasanton should be <br />76,000 persons; and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary for a city to have a general 1~.ar. con- <br />taining all of the elements required by the State Plan- <br />ping Act; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has been diligently working to establish all of <br />the elements required in the tentatively adopted General <br />Plan, as well as to make the General Plan economically <br />viable by undertaking an economic analysis of said Plan; <br />and <br />r~?HEREAS, in the establishment of population levels in the General <br />Plan, it has been necessary to take into consideration <br />the present and future sewerage capabilities for servic- <br />ing development in the City of Pleasanton; and <br />~;~~.iF~1~E+.5, it has been the intention of the City of Pleasanton to <br />phase out its antiquated Sunol Sewage Treatment Plant as <br />soon as possible and it has been recommended by studies <br />pertaining to sewage disposal in the Livermore-Amador <br />Valley since 1959, as well as by resolutions adopted by <br />the Regional Water Control Board, San Francisco Bay Region <br />that the aforementioned sewage treatment plant should Ue <br />phased into the existing Valley Community Services Dis- <br />trict plant which presently services approximately one- <br />half of the City of Pleasanton; and <br />
