Waived second reading and adopted Ordinance No. 1963 approving the application of <br />Mike Carey and Steve Maestas for PUD Rezoning and Development Plan Approval, as <br />filed under Case PUD-55, located at 225 West Angela Street -Sullivan voting no <br />Police <br />12. Public Hearing: Adopted Resolution No. 07-155 authorizing application of the California <br />Vehicle Code to roads within Ruby Hill <br />Mayor Hosterman advised that this item allows for Pleasanton Police to patrol the Ruby Hill <br />neighborhood and to enforce the Vehicle Code. The Association Board will ensure that roads <br />are properly maintained and that signs are appropriately installed. <br />Ruby Hill residents Nancy Harrington and Perry Hayes supported the proposal. <br />Public Works <br />13. Accepted public improvements constructed by the Bernal Improvement Corporation (BIC) <br />for the Valley Avenue Underpass; authorized filing a notice of completion and release of <br />the performance bond <br />Motion: It was m/s by Cook-Kallio/Sullivan to approve Consent Calendar as submitted and as <br />noted. Motion passed by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br />Abstain: None <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br />Bob Silva, Amador/Livermore Valley Historical Society and Museum on Main Street, said they <br />have recently completed their publication, "Images of America -Pleasanton" authored by Mary <br />Jo Wainwright. He presented an autographed copy to each Councilmember. <br />Jerri Long addressed Council concerning the proposal to spend up to $2 million to silence the <br />trains of Pleasanton. She said those who live nearby find it a familiar and comforting sound and <br />it evokes the history of Pleasanton. Those who located near railroad tracks reminds her of those <br />who move by schools and complain about the sound of children playing, and she felt the <br />Council would not find it appropriate to curtail recess and eliminating football. <br />Patricia Moffitt spoke on the Livermore Airport and the EIR, said she enjoys the sounds of trains <br />and children but did not enjoy the sound of airplanes which was a continual irritation to her. She <br />said they are hearing more jet noise and buzzing noise from, which occurs most often in the <br />morning and in the evening. She spoke of plans to build a 9,000 square foot administration <br />building, doubling the number of jets, their landings and take-offs. <br />Max Curtis said he lives 3 miles east of the airport and opposed the expansion due to noise, <br />pollution, and reduced property values. He said the Livermore Council refuses to address these <br />issues and has adopted two proposals from the Livermore Air Center, which he felt was a <br />blueprint for building a jet port. Concerned citizens have fought this for 3 or 4 years, the FAA <br />thinks the future of air travel is for small regional airports to handle small jets and getting them <br />City Council Minutes 3 November 6, 2007 <br />
