EXHIBIT "A"

SCOPE OF WORK (revised 7-14-87)

We propose to perform the following scope of work:

1. We will supplement the topographic features shown on the
existing improvement plans for this portion of Hopyard Road
with a field survey of the property line profile along the
intended alignment of the new wall. This topographic
survey will include features near the fence within public
right-of-way (ROW), and location of street ROW (based on
data contained in tract maps 2905, 3023, 3048, and 3158).

This work includes:
a. Field topographic data collection
b. Establish horizontal & vertical control
c. Field location of utilities affected
d. Plotting of profile, utilities and ROW

Detailed topographic features of the private back yard
areas are not included in this task. We will, however,
identify and sketch backyard improvements in up to eight
yard areas that may be affected by the soundwall project.

2. Gather utility data from PG&E, Pacific Bell, EBMUD,
Dublin/Pleasanton Services District, and Viacom regarding
existing utility locations, if any, in the project area.

3. We will perform a 24-hour noise measurement in the backyard
of a typical home in the study area and spot measurements
at one or two other homes as necessary to evaluate the
current noise exposure in the study area. The 24-hour data
will describe the distribution of sound levels throughout
the day and allow us to calculate the existing 24-hour
average noise level, Ldn. We will then account for
future increases in noise level due to increased traffic,
any change in travel speed in the corridor, and the change
in distance from the rear yards to Hopyard Road after it is
widened. Based on the projected future noise level, we
will then determine the height, length, and location of a
soundwall to meet the City of Pleasanton's standards.
Because, we have found in our experience, there is
considerable neighborhood interest in how a soundwall will
look and how it will perform, results of the noise study
will be presented at the first meeting with the
homeowners. We will be available to describe our findings
and answer any questions that they may have.

This work may include preparation of a typical section
indicating the relationship of noise source and wall
attenuation to the affected backyard areas.

REIMER ASSOCIATES ]
