Ti~uck noise was considered as part of the original application and determined not to
be a significant impact. The site is designated as Commercial on the General Plan
and is currently zoned PUD-Service Commercial. Staff's evaluation is that noise
from trucks would be comparable to other types of commercial development that
could occur on the site. The requirement that "delivery trucks" ~~~ould be required to
use Route 84-Stanley Blvd. and, if agreed to by the property owner, El Charro Rd. to
Busch Rd., would remove heavy truck traffic from City streets. Smaller t~°ucks could
use Sunol Blvd.-First St.-Stanley Blvd., but this is not expected to cause significant
noise impacts.
• Ensure that site lighting is evaluated.
A condition of approval requires that all building and site lighting shall be designed,
installed, and maintained so as to minimize off-site glare. No up lighting shall be
used. The maximum total height for the pole-mounted, parking area light fixtures
shall be 25 feet or as determined by the review and approval of the Planning
Director. The future spacing shall maintain the minimum required illumination per
the Municipal Code. The project developer shall submit a final ligJ~ting plan for this
development with the building permit plan set including an illzunination plan
verifying light levels and the revised fixture designs. The lighting plan shall be
submitted to the Planning Director for review and approval before issuance of a
building permit.
• What will be the impact of Shadow Cliffs on parking at this center, given that users of
Shadow Cliffs park on Stanley Blvd. during holidays?
This will be an issue for Regency as the shopping center owner. Staff would expect
that the shopping center's on-site monitor or security staff would pats°ol their parking
lot on these days in order to preserve their parking for users of the center. Regency
can post the parking lot and tow illegally parked vehicles as a_final resort.
• What will Home Depot, City do regarding day labor at the new store? Existing store?
There is no day laborer issue at the existing Home Depot store, and it is not
anticipated that such a problem would arise at the proposed store. If day laborers
~~~ere to begin assembling at these stogy°es, staff would ~~~ork with Honze Depot and
Regency Centers to resolve any issues that may arise as a result.
• Provide the number of e-mails that have been received by the City from residents
about Hoine Depot -identify pro vs. con since late last year. To the degree that data
is available, provide a sense of which neighborhoods are represented, both pro and
con.
We have received approximately 143 emails and letters.~rom 107 sources in
opposition and approximately 20 emails from 19 sources in support.
i6
