PLANNING COMMISSIOPd <br />Pleasanton, California <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1263 <br />A resolution of the Planning Commission of <br />the City of Pleasanton recommending to the <br />City Council the approval of an amendment <br />to the Ordinance Code pertaining to Political <br />Signs. <br />WHEREAS, an amendment to Section 2-5.28, Article 2, <br />Chapter 2, Title II by the addition of sub- <br />section (f) and an amendment to Section 2-9.40, <br />Article 18, Chapter 2, Title II by an amendment <br />to section (e) and the addition of subsection <br />(j), has come before this Commission, and , <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has held a hearing on <br />this application and has examined pertinent <br />documents. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission <br />of the City of Pleasanton does hereby recommend <br />to the City Council the adoption of said <br />ordinance amendment to read as follows: <br />Section 1. Section 2-5.28, Article 2, Chapter 2, Title II <br />of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton <br />is hereby amended by the addition of a sub- <br />section (f) to read as follows: <br />Section 2-5.28 <br />a. ... <br />b. ... <br />c. ... <br />d. ... <br />e. ... <br />f. Signs, political. Apolitical sign shall <br />mean any sign which is designed to in- <br />fluence the action of the voters either <br />for the passage or defeat of a measure <br />appearing on the ballot of any national, <br />state or local election, or which is <br />designed to influence the action of the <br />voters either for the election or defeat <br />of a candidate for nomination or election <br />to any office, whether public or private, <br />partisan or non-partisan, at any national, <br />state or local election. This definition <br />shall include, but not be limited to, the <br />following elections: races for president, <br />congress, governor, legislator, supervisor, <br />city council, school board member, union <br />officer, officer in a local organization, <br />and any honorary position. <br />Section 2. Section 2-9.40 (Exempt Signs), Article 18, Chapter <br />2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of <br />
