working holidays through receipt of holiday in lieu pay. Said <br /> holiday in lieu pay shall be equal to seven and one-half <br /> percent (7-1/2%) of the employee's annual salary exclusive of <br /> any overtime and shall be in addition to the employee's regular <br /> monthly salary. Holiday in lieu pay shall be paid on the first <br /> pay day after December 1, and the second installment paid on <br /> the first pay day after June 1. Employees in the <br /> classification of police clerk, senior police clerk and the <br /> supervising police clerk shall receive prorated holiday pay <br /> upon termination <br /> <br />10.6 Holidays Falling on Saturday, Sunday, Scheduled Day Off <br /> <br /> When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday shall be <br /> observed; when a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding <br /> Friday shall be observed; except that if Christmas Eve Day <br /> falls on a Saturday or Sunday the preceding Friday shall be <br /> observed. If a holiday falls on an employee's scheduled time <br /> off, compensatory time off shall be granted, or, at the option <br /> of the employee, compensation at a rate of pay equal to his <br /> regular rate of pay for the holiday period shall be granted. <br /> <br />Section 11. Vacations <br /> <br />11.1 Vacation Eligibility <br /> <br /> All employees in the competitive service shall be entitled to <br /> annual vacation leave with pay except the following: <br /> <br /> 1) Employees who have served less than six (6) months in the <br /> service of the City. <br /> 2) Employees who work on a provisional or temporary basis and <br /> all non regular part-time employees. <br /> <br />11.2 Vacation Allowance <br /> <br /> Each eligible full time employee shall be entitled to vacation <br /> with pay in accordance with the following schedule: <br /> <br /> 1) One (1) through four (4) years of continuous service - ten <br /> (10) vacation days. <br /> <br /> 2) Five (5) through ten (10) years of continuous service - <br /> fifteen (15) vacation days. <br /> <br /> 3) Eleven (11) through eighteen (18) years of continuous <br /> service - twenty (20) vacation days. <br /> <br /> 4) Nineteen (19) years of continuous service and above - <br /> twenty-five (25) vacation days. <br /> <br /> 5) Accrued vacation shall be credited to the employee's <br /> account upon his/her anniversary date each year. <br /> <br /> 6) Any employee, except a probationary, or regular part-time <br /> employee, may be allowed to incur a forty (40) hour <br /> deficit beyond the vacation leave credited to .his/her <br /> account on his/her anniversary date.
