Invitation to Bid on "As Needed Services " • Processes shall be used as needed to ensure all weeds, tullies, and other vegetation is adequately controlled constantly (maintained with no weeds) throughout the year. Contractor will clean walks, roadways, and any other areas littered or soiled by their maintenance operations and/or equipment. • All pesticide applications shall be performed by or under the direction of a State Qualified Applicator, categories B & C. The application of all herbicides shall be per the manufacturer's specifications. • The Contractor shall provide the County Agricultural Commissioner's office (as required by law) a monthly record of all pesticide used. A copy of the same report shall be included with the Contractor's billing to the City. • All Contractors' employees shall comply with all Federal, state, and local laws and regulations including manufacturer's label governing the use of chemicals for control of weeds. All spraying shall be done with extreme care so as to avoid any hazard to any person or pet in the immediate areas or any property damage. • Before contract work begins, the Contractor will provide to the Utilities Superintendent a schedule that will indicate the order in which work will be performed. In addition, in advance of each workday's applications, the Contractor will confirm to the Utilities Superintendent or designee as to the specific areas that will be abated that day. • Contract lump sum price paid for weed and debris removal for each prescribed right of way area shall include furnishing all labor, material, tools, and equipment for doing all work involved in weed and debris removal within the limits indicated including disposal of excess materials and no additional compensation will be allowed. • All private, and other unscheduled weed abatement will be charged at contractors hourly labor rates. • During June of each year the contractor will need to be prepped and ready to handle the Livermore Pleasanton Fire department annual fire weed abatement program. LPFD will require the contractor to perform emergency weed abatement for fire prevention throughout selected parcels in the City. See Fire protection section for further details. FIRE PROTECTION: Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Weed Abatement Standards The following minimum standards have been established for contractors to assist property owners in abating fire hazards on their property. Special conditions may require additional abatement. All Cases Require: Trash and combustible debris removal Hand labor at fence lines adjacent to occupied lots and structures Removal of all weeds within 30 feet of any structure 3
