Invitation to Bid on "As Needed Services " <br />• Processes shall be used as needed to ensure all weeds, tullies, and other <br />vegetation is adequately controlled constantly (maintained with no weeds) <br />throughout the year. Contractor will clean walks, roadways, and any other <br />areas littered or soiled by their maintenance operations and/or equipment. <br />• All pesticide applications shall be performed by or under the direction of a <br />State Qualified Applicator, categories B & C. The application of all herbicides <br />shall be per the manufacturer's specifications. <br />• The Contractor shall provide the County Agricultural Commissioner's office <br />(as required by law) a monthly record of all pesticide used. A copy of the <br />same report shall be included with the Contractor's billing to the City. <br />• All Contractors' employees shall comply with all Federal, state, and local <br />laws and regulations including manufacturer's label governing the use of <br />chemicals for control of weeds. All spraying shall be done with extreme care <br />so as to avoid any hazard to any person or pet in the immediate areas or any <br />property damage. <br />• Before contract work begins, the Contractor will provide to the Utilities <br />Superintendent a schedule that will indicate the order in which work will be <br />performed. In addition, in advance of each workday's applications, the <br />Contractor will confirm to the Utilities Superintendent or designee as to the <br />specific areas that will be abated that day. <br />• Contract lump sum price paid for weed and debris removal for each prescribed <br />right of way area shall include furnishing all labor, material, tools, and <br />equipment for doing all work involved in weed and debris removal within the <br />limits indicated including disposal of excess materials and no additional <br />compensation will be allowed. <br />• All private, and other unscheduled weed abatement will be charged at <br />contractors hourly labor rates. <br />• During June of each year the contractor will need to be prepped and ready to <br />handle the Livermore Pleasanton Fire department annual fire weed abatement <br />program. LPFD will require the contractor to perform emergency weed <br />abatement for fire prevention throughout selected parcels in the City. See Fire <br />protection section for further details. <br />FIRE PROTECTION: <br />Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department Weed Abatement Standards <br />The following minimum standards have been established for contractors to assist <br />property owners in abating fire hazards on their property. Special conditions may require <br />additional abatement. <br />All Cases Require: <br />Trash and combustible debris removal <br />Hand labor at fence lines adjacent to occupied lots and structures <br />Removal of all weeds within 30 feet of any structure <br />3 <br />
