(Balance of section to remain). <br />20.08.046 Section 202 amended - Definitions- H_iah-Rise Building -Item 2. <br />Section 202 Definitions -High-Rise Building -Item 2 of the California Building <br />Standards Code 2007 Edition (24 C.C.R.), and including by reference the International <br />Building Code, 2006 Edition, Volumes 1 and 2, is amended to read as follows: <br />2. "High-rise structure" means every building of any type of construction or occupancy <br />and in general and for all occupancies not regulated by the State Fire Marshal having <br />floors used for human occupancy located more than 55 feet (16,764 mm) above the <br />lowest floor level having building access (see Section 403.1.2), except buildings used <br />as hospitals as defined in Health and Safety Code Section 1250. <br />20.08.048 Section 903.1 Amended-Automatic Fire Extinguishing Systems <br />Section 903.1 Amended-Automatic Fire Extinguishing Systems of the California <br />Building Standards Code 2007 Edition, (24 C.C.R.), and including by reference the <br />International Building Code, 2006 Edition, Volumes 1 and 2 is amended to read as <br />follows: <br />903.1 An automatic fire extinguishing system or other approved fire suppression <br />system(s) shall be installed as follows: <br />Where required. An automatic fire extinguishing system or other approved fire <br />suppression system shall be installed in all occupancies and locations. <br />Exception: Utility and miscellaneous buildings, Group U occupancies, that do not <br />exceed 144 square feet fences over 6 feet, water tanks, and retaining walls. <br />903.1.2 Existing Buildings and Structures: <br />1. In all buildings regardless of occupancy, on a parcel, when the total combined <br />building area on the parcel exceeds 6,000 square feet of floor area, including area of <br />basements. <br />2. All buildings over 5 minute response time, as determined by the City of Pleasanton <br />General Plan Safety Element, Special Consideration Area. <br />3. Any structure in any area or location determined by the City of Pleasanton General <br />Plan Safety Element, Special Consideration Area to be a high fire hazard. High fire <br />hazard area shall be defined as those areas beyond five minutes driving time of fire <br />apparatus from the fire station serving those particular districts; or areas determined by <br />the Fire Chief to be either high hazard areas or extreme hazard areas based on <br />steepness of slope and/or fuel loadings from combustible plant materials as set forth in <br />the Safety Element of the General Plan. <br />48 <br />
